With the two tenders issued on consecutive days, the central bank is moving ahead with plans to procure a combined <strong>700 million coins in one- and two-rupee denominations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The production and supply of the two-rupee coins will follow a <strong>single-stage, two-envelope bidding system<\/strong>. Participating companies will be required to submit their technical and financial proposals separately.<\/p>\n<p>Interested bidders can purchase the tender documents by paying a <strong>non-refundable fee of NPR 20,000<\/strong> until <strong>November 3, 2026<\/strong>. The fee may also be paid in foreign currency equivalent to <strong>USD 131 or EUR 115<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>NRB has scheduled a <strong>pre-bid meeting for October 16, 2026<\/strong>, to provide clarification and address queries related to the tender process. The meeting will be held at the Currency Management Department in Thapathali, Kathmandu.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submitting bids is <strong>12 noon on November 4, 2026<\/strong>, while the submitted bids will be opened at <strong>1 p.m. on the same day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Companies participating in the tender must provide a <strong>bid security of USD 132,000<\/strong>, or an equivalent amount in foreign currency or Nepali rupees.
