\"\"<\/a>Banking Khabar \/<\/strong> The Supreme Court has introduced a measure to prioritize hearings of cooperative-related cases in a bid to deliver faster justice to victims who have lost their savings due to cooperative fraud. Under the new arrangement, dedicated benches will be established in district courts with a high volume of such cases, while other courts will also be required to prioritize cooperative offence cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the decision made by Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma, dedicated benches will be arranged to hear cooperative-related cases in district courts where more than 100 such cases are pending. District courts with fewer than 100 cases will also be required to place cooperative offence cases in a separate category and prioritize their hearings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Supreme Court spokesperson Ashok Kumar Chhetri said the decision was made on October 20. The measure aims to accelerate judicial proceedings at a time when many cooperative-related cases have remained pending in courts for extended periods, delaying justice for victims.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, on Magh 11, 2082, the Supreme Court had issued a directive ordering the establishment of dedicated benches in district courts, as necessary, to ensure justice for victims in the cooperative sector and expedite the resolution of cooperative offence cases. The latest decision is an effort to implement that directive.<\/span><\/p>\n

A study report submitted by a task force formed by the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, also highlighted that dedicated benches for cooperative offence cases in district courts could make hearings more systematic and help victims obtain justice more conveniently.<\/span><\/p>\n

A large number of depositors have been unable to recover their savings for an extended period due to cooperative fraud. Delays in court hearings not only prolong the process of obtaining justice but also create uncertainty over when victims might recover their money. The decision to prioritize cooperative-related cases is therefore expected to speed up judicial proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, faster hearings and the actual return of victims\u2019 savings are two different matters. Even after a court delivers its verdict, enforcement of the decision, recovery of funds from individuals found guilty, and the process of returning savings to victims remain equally important. The real impact of the new arrangement will depend on progress in both the effective resolution of cases and the enforcement of court judgments.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
