Election Preparations Gain Momentum Ahead of 2026 Vote

Banking Khabar/ The Government of Nepal has intensified preparations for the much-anticipated House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections scheduled for March 5, 2026. In a recent high-level meeting, Prime Minister Sushila Karki and officials of the Election Commission of Nepal discussed comprehensive strategies to ensure that the upcoming polls will be conducted in a manner that is free, fair, and transparent.

According to officials, the preparation drive will focus on updating voter registrations, enhancing election-day security, strengthening logistical supply chains, and setting up credible monitoring mechanisms to guarantee public confidence in the process. The government has also emphasized the importance of creating a peaceful and inclusive environment where every eligible citizen can exercise their sovereign right without fear or obstruction.

Addressing the nation’s political actors, PM Karki appealed for unity and cooperation, stating that “credible elections are the foundation of democratic stability and people’s trust in state institutions.” The Election Commission has meanwhile pledged to uphold impartiality and to work tirelessly in close coordination with all stakeholders.
