Banking Khabar/ Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged the general public to use credit cards responsibly and only after clearly understanding the related terms and conditions.
In a financial awareness message issued on Tuesday titled “Use Credit Cards Only After Understanding the Terms”, the central bank said that while proper use of credit cards can make payments safe and convenient, careless use may lead to high interest charges and increased financial burden.
NRB advised customers to gather clear information before using a credit card. This includes understanding the credit limit, applicable fees and interest rates, billing cycle date, payment deadline, and the additional charges imposed in case of late payment.
The central bank emphasized that being informed and disciplined in credit card usage can help avoid unnecessary debt and financial stress.
