Central Bank Introduces Inclusive Banking Rules for Elderly and Disabled

Banking Khabar / Nepal Rastra Bank has implemented new banking regulations aimed at making banking services more inclusive and customer-friendly. Under the new provisions, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and illiterate customers will receive priority services at banks and financial institutions.

The new policy is expected to make the banking sector more refined and disability-friendly. Regarding the use of technology, the central bank has also made it mandatory for banks to provide services such as ATMs, mobile banking and internet banking to persons with disabilities if they submit a self-declaration stating they are capable of using such services independently.

Nepal Rastra Bank has enforced these provisions through its unified directive.
