Election Commission Begins Countrywide Voter Awareness Campaign

Banking Khabar / A nationwide voter education program has been launched from Falgun targeting the House of Representatives election. The Election Commission has approved and begun implementing a special program in accordance with the Election Education and Voter Education Directive, 2078.

The program, aimed at informing citizens about the importance of voting rights and the voting process, will run until Falgun 17 in 6,743 wards under 753 local levels across the country. One voter education volunteer will be mobilized in each ward.

According to the Commission, volunteers will visit households and provide information about the importance of elections and the voting procedure using sample ballot papers. It is believed that effective voter education will help increase voter participation and reduce invalid votes.

Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the Commission has urged provincial governments, local levels, political parties, candidates, and the media sector to cooperate and coordinate to ensure the program’s success.
