Chairman of Nepal Micro Insurance Arrested on Securities Fraud Charges

Banking Khabar / Ashish Shrestha, Chairman of Nepal Micro Insurance Company, has been arrested by a team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police for alleged involvement in securities-related offenses.

According to police officials, Shrestha was taken into custody from Kathmandu on Tuesday. The arrest was made for investigation under charges of violating the Securities Act, 2063 (2007).

Authorities stated that the case involves suspected irregularities related to securities transactions, although detailed allegations have not yet been publicly disclosed. The CIB confirmed that Shrestha is currently under investigation and further legal procedures will follow based on the findings.
